The Washington, DC Chapter is sponsoring the annual married couple’s conference at the Holiday Inn at BWI Airport. Mark your calendars for this important conference which will be held March 19, 20, and 21st, 2010. The price is $350.00 per couple for preregistration, and $375.00 per couple for late registration. This includes hotel room, meals, and conference fees. Please pray how God might use you to help lower the 75% divorce rate FCF’s goal is to effectively minister to couples in the fire service in order to strengthen marriages by encouraging couples to live according to God’s plan for marriages. If every FCF member were to attend this conference, I would dare say we would not have much change in the 75% divorce rate because we wouldn’t be reaching couples who desperately need to hear God’s plan. Likewise, if only couples attend who do not regularly attend church, we would not make a dent in the divorce rate because there would be no Godly influence. Our prayer is that members of FCF with good marriages come to the conference in order to encourage couples who are struggling. We are also encouraging churches, businesses, or local chapters to sponsor couples to come to the conference. One thing firefighters have a hard time passing up is a free vacation. I’m convinced then we will truly begin to make a difference in the fire service. The marriage conference committee is striving to meet the needs of firefighters. Currently we are developing material to be used at the conference and for couples to take back to their local firehouses in order to encourage their fellow firefighters.
